Dear Sangira – Friends of Rwanda!
On October 19, 2024, the graduation ceremony for the 3rd and 4th cohorts took place – it was a wonderful celebration filled with many highlights!
132 young adults were sent off with their hospitality diplomas, embarking on a new phase in the professional world!
At the celebration, we enjoyed an inspiring and motivational speech from the Deputy Mayor of Nyamasheke (Joseph Desire), Business Development, directed to the students and the Sangira team.
The founders and initiators of the Sangira School of Hospitality, Jackie Helfenberger and Bobito Masanga, along with Christian Gisanura and the team in Rwanda, were rewarded with a resounding drumroll and dance for their tireless efforts and commitment. The 50 drummers from the Ingoma Cooperative gave the event a heartfelt, joyful atmosphere. Traditional dances were performed passionately by the Sangira dance group, as well as a formation by Village Ishara.
A big thank you – Murakoze cyane – goes to the director of the Sangira School, Christian Gisanura, and his team, who put their hearts into training the students. By now, former Sangira graduates can be found working in hotels across Rwanda!
Heartfelt thanks to all the ambassadors and friends who traveled from Kigali to attend and celebrate with us. Even the ladies from the Background Tours women’s group graced us in traditional Imishanana attire. Afterwards, there was a delicious meal at the Sangira school restaurant, prepared by the school’s kitchen team under the guidance of Bobito and Ambassador Vincent!
Together, we are shaping a better future!
