The participation was impressive, the atmosphere warm and the start with many „Friends of Rwanda“ optimistic. On 10 November 2022, we had the pleasure of celebrating our first Sangira Charity Party with over 80 guests at the Museum Ngala, African Contemporary Art Space, in Zurich. All members of the association manifested with heart and soul how they stand for the association and how they have been and will commit for the youth of Rwanda. The presentation with films and reports from the already running school project underlined the necessity and the heartfelt request of the already 136 students to be able to complete their education. With the school’s director Christian we have found a professional for our project, who fully lends his warmth and expertise to the young people. The school’s premises are bright and tailored to the needs of the training. With a moving and encouraging speech by Marie Chantal Rwakazina, Rwanda’s Ambassador, as well as folkloric dances and a delicious Rwandan buffet, the association succeeded in making up for the ceremonial start of the school in Switzerland.
With the start of the hotel school (project 1) the 136 students have found their place, now they also need your support. With a sponsorship of CHF 1500 per student, the education including meals and school materials is possible.
